About Me
![]() If you see me out and about, it will properly be with my Camera or my Samoyed's or both. The Dogie Tale: My registered dog's were Samoyed's, Irish Wolfhound & Labrador's. Just after college, I lived in Dublin, where I was introduced by a friend to various dog shows & show dog training classes around the city. This was the beginning of the Dublin show scene for me. I emigrated to Canada in the 80,s and while living there, also immersed myself in the Arts, Photography, our Canine friend, and the Wolf. I returned to Ireland in the early 90's, and was introduced to The Samoyed. Yes!! I had fallen in love with the smiling cavalier. I joined The Irish Samoyed Club, with Sec. Mr. Jimmy Hyland. & also The U.K. Samoyed Clubs, to gain more information on the breed, before I brought my first Samoyed home. My first Samoyed was Icemist Ire x Roybridge U.K. Followed by 3 imports from Great Britian. Skiandu, Kynoch & Taronakits. My early Samoyed's have passed away into Canine Heaven or happily living with me in their old age. The photo above is taken at home the day my home-bred young boy "Inbhearmor Bear De Paor" won the European Junior Title. Photography: My father, Patrick Power handed me my first camera at the age of 7. He rolled the film in the camera, gave me some pointers, and said to me... Go out and photograph what you like, and don’t spare the film. ...And so I did. I had a natural love for photography, most likely because it was in my genes from the three generations of Professional Power Photographers before me. My Father Patrick Power: Grandfather Richard Power: Great Grandma Power: & Grand Uncle Teddy Power. Since my teens I have freelanced with the newspapers, went on to wedding photography , portraits, and the Canine. My work has been published around the globe and I have won many photographic awards. 95% of my photography is on film before I moved into digital a couple of years ago. The images on this website is my later work. Perhaps, some day when my life is not so hectic, I will scan the thousands of negatives onto my computer. But for now... I am happy enough to keep shooting pictures. |
